How to Take a Screenshot on iPhone

iPhone, by Albel.

You may find yourself in a situation where you want to capture the screen on your iPhone. You may want to capture a high score, a text message, or an error. The iPhone operating system (iOS) has a built-in function that will allow you to capture screenshots using just the buttons on your device.

How Do I Take a Screenshot on My iPhone?

All you need to grab a screenshot on your iPhone are these two buttons: Home and Power (Sleep / Wake).

If you are new to the iPhone, it can orient first to help you be on the buttons on the set. The home button is the only actual button on the front of the phone. It is very close to the bottom of the front of the phone and centered from left to right with the image of a square with rounded corners on it.

Apple refers to the power button as Standby button because you can tap to bring the phone to sleep. When you press this button in the same, you use it to power off your phone. This button at the top of the iPhone on the right side (see figure) is independent of the name. Order a screenshot on your iPhone, Apple recommends that you quickly press and release “Sleep / wake and home buttons simultaneously.” Make sure the current screen you want capture first navigating.

My experience is the best way to hold the power button and then quickly press the button “Home”. Some people recommend two presses the home key, but the second tap is unnecessary. Your iPhone screen will flash white only for a second. Release once a screenshot you see the Flash that simply lets you know was captured.

Viewing iPhone Screenshots

Once you’ve captured a screenshot on your iPhone, you probably wish to view, rename or forward it on. When you capture the iPhone screenshot, the image is saved to your Camera Roll within the native Photos app. The Photos app is where all your images are accessible on the iPhone. Look for an image of a sunflower (see the illustration).

Tap the photos app from your home screen and look for the “Camera Roll” menu that should be high on the list of albums. The camera roll is also where photos with your iPhone camera captured are stored. Your screenshots are to end the film has, so unless you have picked up any photos because you your iPhone screenshot captured they should at the very end of the roll will be.

You can use all standard actions with a screenshot, you can do with a photo from the iPhone camera recorded. This means you can the image directly in email photos, save them as wallpaper or send it to MobileMe. To any of these features tap just the screenshot left icon in the lower on your screen, if you see. This icon looks like a rectangle with an arrow. Opens a menu that offers several options for sharing the image.
