Skype for iPad

No Comments, iPad, by Albel.

Skype for iPad has played continual app store hide and seek today but has now final made the decision to come out and play.

Skyping from an iPad is Easy, and the sound quality much better than from my laptop.

The application that “went live prematurely” has now returned, bringing with it a proper FaceTime alternative for Apple’s tablet.

This means you can now take advantage of full screen two way video chatter, send text messages or chat with Skype contacts on your iPad.

At present it’s voice only, but excellent quality. It was very useful to be able to make the skype call on the iPad while I worked on the laptop.

Major difference is that you can make video calls over 3G, rather than being limited to the Wi-Fi only action currently found over FaceTime.

Those who want to download the new application will find it live on iTunes now.

Which leads me to think that the Skype app can also be installed on an iPad and iPod Touch.

Since the iPad and iPod Touch are “app” capable, all you need to do is install the Skype app and start making calls – that’s my theory anyway.

OneNote for iPhone 1.2 in UK

No Comments, Software, by Albel.

OneNote for iPhone has finally reached the UK and marks the first time the Brits can officially use a Microsoft Office tool on an iOS device. Available for free (initially), it even improves upon the US edition (which has been out since January 2011), being version 1.2.

Obviously, OneNote has been integrated into windows cell seven for a while, and it’ll see improvements when Mango’s ready, but that information has been scant consolation for iPhone-carrying SkyDrive and Office365 users. Thankfully though, they too can now join in using the note creation fun (yep, we truly did “note creation” and “fun” together).

OneNote for iPhoneFor people in america who are sitting smugly and questioning why the excitement, even your version is now vastly enhanced with new functionality, such as the ability to search across current notebooks, picture capture (which, like everything, will sync across your cloud-based notes to appear instantly in desktop of web app variants of OneNote) and entry to shared notebooks.

But for the rest of us, and by that we also signify Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, this is pretty new. It’s also, if you’ve only managed with Apple’s pre-installed notes application until now, pretty essential.

To begin with, a windows live account is mandatory, as the point of OneNote is the fact that you store your files remotely. You can then entry and manipulate them via office 2010 with OneNote set up on a PC or via the free web app (found at the top of your Hotmail homepage) too. Indeed, as the iOS application is designed specifically for a smaller, much less effective device, you may possibly find that it’s easier and quicker to create complex notes on a computer first, after which sync them to your phone.

And that’s exactly what we did within our hands-on in Microsoft’s London office. Chris Adams, office product manager in the UK, sparked up a note he’d created earlier (of locations in Washington he’d like to visit on his honeymoon) which contained a map and a checklist, and we got to see, using the iPhone’s own camera, how the whole shebang syncs instantly across platforms, such as the aforementioned web app.

Adams used his iPhone to take a image of a friendly volunteer and inserted it underneath a new listing in his Washington sights note. after twenty seconds or so, he then opened the identical note in the web apps version of OneNote, which experienced changed to incorporate the new word and picture, after which the desktop version, which featured them each likewise. straightforward and (nigh-on) immediate.

He also showed us the new search functionality around the handset, which will now search throughout all belonging to the “notebooks” and come up with personal notes, as properly as group headers. and also this was all performed on an iPhone 3GS, with no pace difficulties whatsoever.

Of course, there are other note-taking, scrapbook creation apps out there, Evernote getting a specific fave of many, but not only will Microsoft’s be essential for any iPhone proprietor who utilizes office 2010 on a PC, it seems the fact that software giant has addressed the difficulties and glitches with previous builds that had been reported over the pond.

Incidentally, although the iTunes page claims compatibility using the iPad, you should be aware that it is only compatible in the sense that it will perform much like many non-universal applications; in 2x screen mode. It’s something that might be addressed in the future, however, as microsoft exclusively told us that if sufficient men and women call for a native ipad app, the company will consider one.

We also understand that this could just be the begin of a wave of microsoft mobile office functions for the iPhone as properly as other devices.

OneNote for iPhone is available as of today on iTunes.

5 Reasons to ban free iPhone Porn

1 Comment, iPhone, by Albel.

Have you observed that there is now a huge plethora of free iPhone porn sites out in the Internet?

It’s terrible! What used to be only free porn on the mainstream Internet has found its way into the iPhone world.

And with the immense number of users logging into the web using the Apple iPhone, this trend should not continue. Here are 5 reasons why I think free iPhone porn should be banned.

1. It Dilutes Good Mobile Content

If free iPhone porn is allowed to run on the web, it will dilute proper, good mobile content. I’d say that a large chunk of iPhone site owners, upon seeing the attractive returns from running a free iPhone porn site, will choose to run such a site instead of providing good, wholesome content. I see that as a huge loss for the mobile content world.

2. Availability Of Porn To Other Phones

Imagine that free iPhone porn becomes really successful and millions of visitors are attracted to it each day. Don’t you think the porn site owners will then extend support to other phones like Symbian or Android phones?

This spells disaster because it means free iPhone porn technically will be extended to all other phone models as well.

children safe iphone3. Children Are Very Exposed To It

The first reason why I think free iPhone porn should be banned is that children, in general, are very susceptible to it. I say this because I see many, many parents pass their iPhones to their children to play games and such.

However, if the child one day surfs over to a free iPhone porn site, imagine what will happen. In my opinion, the likelihood of a child stumbling upon a free iPhone porn site is even higher on the mobile iPhone than in a desktop PC.

This is simply because the iPhone is so convenient, so easy to use. But ease of use carries its risks – and one of them is exposure to free iPhone porn.

4. It Breeds Addiction To Porn

Studies have shown that the number of younsters and adults addicted to Internet porn has increased massively over recent years. If free iPhone porn is not banned, we will end up with even more addiction to porn.

We need to reduce this scourge and the best way to do it is to ensure that free iPhone porn is eliminated from the web.

5. iPhone Content Is More Visible In Public

Remember, the iPhone itself is a mobile device. It’s not like a laptop or desktop that is limited to being used in a room or cafe. People take their iPhones everywhere and surf from anywhere.

That of course also means that all that free iPhone porn can be viewed more extensively in public by innocent bystanders. We wouldn’t want that, now would we?

Conclusion

I hope the above article has given you some idea of why I think free iPhone porn should be banned. Free iPhone porn (and any other porn for that matter) are wreaking massive havoc on our society and our children.

Please, I implore those iPhone site owners to consider writing good, quality content instead of resorting to making money or getting traffic via porn. It’s just not ethical. Until next time, please help me in my fight against free iPhone porn and porn on the Internet!
