Macbook Pro Pixel Problems
MAC OS, by Albel.
Dead pixel on your shiny new MacBook Pro? Here are the proper troubleshooting steps to take before taking your MacBook Pro into the Apple Store for service.
Nothing is more frustrating than a dead pixel on your MacBook Pro LCD screen. Regardless of age of your MacBook Pro, dead pixel (or pixels) on a MacBook Pro are a fact of life. I have some experience with dead had (or glued) pixels on a variety of products from a variety of manufacturers. Please note that the most pixels are simply “plug” and is not dead. Apple laptops are not immune but in my experience they tend to have less dead pixel. The geniuses at the Apple store are generally very helpful if you dead pixel problems with your MacBook Pro meeting. Below is some preparatory steps to take before you use your MacBook Pro to the service.
Massage the Dead Pixel with a Clean Dry Cloth
The first step you will want to take should you find a “stuck” pixel on your MacBook Pro is to gently massage the affected pixel with a clean dry cloth, being very careful to not apply too much pressure. This has been known to help with stuck pixels, but if the pixel is actually a “dead” pixel you will not have any success with this method.
JScreenFix
The next step you will want to take should massaging the pixel not fix it is to run JScreenFix on the affected area of the screen. Again, this will only make a difference if you have a stuck pixel as opposed to a completely dead pixel. Simply load up the JScreenFix applet and let it run for 20 minutes or more. This is the applet I’ve had the most success with when it comes to stuck pixels on my Apple screens but there is no guarantee it will “unstick” the pixel(s).
Apple Store for Repairs
If none of the above steps to correcting errors with your MacBook Pro dead (or glued) helped pixels need your MacBook Pro in to take the Apple store for repairs. If your MacBook Pro is still under warranty or an AppleCare plan there is a good chance the screen or repaired be replaced free of charge. If your MacBook Pro from a dead pixel is suffering and less than 90 days old, you should be able to get replacement MacBook Pro with a little perseverance. One thing to remember is the MacBook Pro in the genius bar for service to be polite but firm and explains what exactly as well, what you expect to the repair or replacement.
Small White Spot on Screen
Another problem that some users is their experience with MacBook or MacBook Pro a small white spot on the screen. In these cases a small white spot on the screen appears sometimes as big as a fingerprint and is caused not by dead or dark spots. It admits the reason this happens but it seems no solid information to repairs during the warranty period will be. Some users speculate that this through a heat problem of exercise on the actual screen or a design error in a small amount of MacBook and MacBook Pro’s caused.
Regardless of the exact cause of the MacBook or MacBook Pro screen problem, if you white a little spot on the screen should immediately with your laptop for repair. It can be very frustrating if you get a MacBook dead or stuck pixels on your pro LCD display. This can be especially frustrating if dead pixel is a distraction of the MacBook Pro in the middle of the screen where it causes during use. If you find a dead (or glued) pixels on your MacBook Pro, you not to panic. Follow the above steps to resolve the issue and if none of them plan to fix the problem you visit your local Apple retail store.
