iOS 4.2 hasn’t even been released to the public yet, but now iOS 4.2.1 GM is available for developers to download. The latest GM build is 8C148 and has versions for all supported hardware including iPhone 4, iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations of iPod touch.

The public release date for iOS 4.2 must be any day now, but the question is whether or not we will get 4.2 and then have to manually update to 4.2.1 after that, or if Apple will just jump everyone directly to iOS 4.2.1 with the coming iOS update.

If you are in the iOS development program you can get the latest release from Apple, everyone else will have to wait.
