Float in at Apple event – Two new MacBook Air models

Ah, there’s nothing like an Apple launch event to set the tech-rumour mill into hyper-drive.

And with the next meeting of the Holy Church from Cupertino because fair on 20. October take place, the latest murmurs are, that apart from looking at Mac OS 10.7 Lion, the Prophet jobs (or one of his disciples) is x not announced the arrival of one, but two brand new MacBook Air models.

AppleInsider’s tech coverage of some, that we can expect to see on the new machines and Engadget has even managed to the nab the touted a picture of what might be innards of a prototype from the larger notebooks on board. Proposals that are both versions 11, 6-inch and 13, 3 inch versions, with 11 6 inch model on track to be “price aggressive”. Said the machines have revised, “unibody” design, with single button trackpad and a port layout not too unlike the latest MacBook Pro.

SSD memory card is apparently (based out of a SATA connector, Chamber, which sits above and new on the left side of the battery, which has 4 separate battery components). The base model only a little bit thicker than a USB port. We are looking for reader two USB ports, a MagSafe adapter, mini DisplayPort, and a SD card. Spec wise, the photo shows the same 1.86 GHz Core 2 Duo SL9400 chip in the current incumbent (although we expect from the prototype to be upgraded), 2 GB RAM.

So, it’s all eyes on Cupertino this week for yet another big Apple announcement.
